I'm really interested in seeing how crowns, dentures, retainers, etc. are made. Has anyone shadowed a dental lab technician before? What was your experience like? Should I just go in and ask to shadow like I would for a dental office? (I would think it's a more relaxed environment than a dental office and shadowing shouldn't be a problem... Am I assuming incorrectly?) Is it possible to work in one w/o being certified? Thanks for any help! 🙂

I was able to volunteer at a lab. I would observe one thing be made and then I was given an easy case to make. They gradually introduced me into new things. Although I didn't get to do a large variety of pros cases, I still was able to grasp certain concepts and 'TRICKS' that has helped out in d-school.
