Has anyone studied an entire subject separately on its own before moving on to the next subject?

For instance, covering all of chemistry before moving on to physics. Then covering all of physics before moving on to biology -- so on and so forth.

Has anyone done this and/or recommend this?

Yeah me! Just easier for me to plow through one subject at a time.

Done this? yes, currently going through general chemistry before jumping ships to physics.
Recommend this? Well it depends on the person studying.
