Has the DAT gotten harder? Average Score lower?

Too ME!, I am positive that it has increased in difficulty level, specifically in the Biology,RC, and QR sections. I have taken it twice (2 years ago and this year) I am certain that the questions for biology are much for specific and deductive, RC has longer and more vague passages (less scientific papers), and QR has added many more word problems and has since done away with many of the "simple" alge/geo/trig "evaluate" questions. I don't know though, that's just how I feel about the change. I must admit though that the PAT was extremely easy compared to the first time I took it.

The "other" is me. I honestly dont think the DAT has gotten much harder. I was on this board last year at this time and everyone was saying how much harder the bio is and how much invertebrate stuff there is on there and that the ADA has changed the format. Pretty much the EXACT same things people are saying now. I highly doubt it that the ADA would continually change the DAT in successive years. I'm pretty sure the DAT has gotten harder since say 2000. But i really dont think it has gotten much harder within a year. I think it all really comes down to how someone has prepared for an exam. If you study hard and do well then its easy for you, whereas if you dont then your SOL. I'm sure you guys have experienced sitting in class the day after a test and overheard someone complain how hard the exam was or how the teacher was unfair with the questions . While your thinking to yourself "what are they talking about that exam was easy". I think the same can be said about the DAT. I have also spoke with a couple of my friends who have taken it this summer and both have said that the chem and ochem was easy and the bio section was a little tougher. People have to realize for bio your gonna get random questions you just cant let those questions throw you off. I really dont think the ADA has changed the exam since June or August. That would be unethical because it would be discriminating against one applicant over another applicant by giving them a harder exam. Anyways I'll let you guys know for sure when i take it tuesday 🙂

Here's an interesting tidbit for you, I had the exact same question on my biology section as someone who took the test two years prior...

Hey, The practice test questions kind of blur with the real ones now but I'll give it my best. One bio question asked which animal was the first to develope a backbone and internal skeleton, my answer choices were a fish, shark, reptile, amphibian, or echinoderm.
