oh really? it really doesn't seem like you do.....
OBRA 90 mandates that pharmacists must offer to counsel Medicaid patients for new prescriptions as part of a DUR plan.
yep that was my point
What I meant by my "so much for OBRA 90" comment was that this women wasn't complying with the rule.
are you a medicaid patient?
She was asking me to sign off on a refusal for patient counseling without giving me an opportunity to read the agreement before signing.
its your responsibility to read anything you sign... if she went to fast, and you were uncomfortable with that... why not ask her to go back so you could read it?
Sorry I misspoke. I should have said "So much for Michigan Board of Pharmacy Administrative Rule 20 compliance."
hmm.... guess so.....
Alabama has a similar ruling inspired by OBRA 90. It reads, "In the best interest of the public health, the patient must be offered counseling for all new prescriptions and, where appropriate, for refill prescriptions." (Rules of the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy, Chapter 680-X-2, Section 21: "Patient Counseling").
oh really??? DAMN i KNEW they forgot something in law class..... Holy Crap! I'm going out to the school right now and demanding my money back!!!!!!!
Of course, I am not actually in Pharmacy School, so what the hell do I know.

i understand the point you are trying to make... that after obra 90 other similar laws were formed however that does not change the fact that obra 90 does not mandate EVERYONE be offered to counsel
if you would like to continue to quote law to me then please feel free... i can pull out my notes from class in pharmacy school and let you know anything and everything that was said in my classes.
