"It was all they wanted to talk about in most of my interviews" is what a UOP alum (now in oral surgery) told me about his dental trip to the Gallapagos Islands during his application process.😱 I was also told this by others who have done similar trips. I just searched this group- "spreading smiles"- their website is amazing! They just started this themselves! How many of you have done something like this? This should give you a nice advantage- especially with a school like ASDOH. Is this common or very rare among applicants because I have heard of this several times this year?

Yes, I have although I don't know if it is necessary. I just had an opportunity to go to Vietnam and thought it would be nice to bring over clothes and dental supplies and help educate people in some of the more rural areas. It may definitely help with schools like ASDOH. Although I have applied there before and was rejected.
