If I submit my secondary applications to all schools at the beginning of September, am I considered late for DO schools and therefore at a big disadvantage? I don't get my MCAT retake score till August 27th and don't want to submit to schools until I get my new score...

You'll be late, but for DO that's not a killer for most schools but you'll want to be done with all your apps by late October ( It's going to take a few weeks to secondaries released to you so don't expect those until late sept or early oct) and you'll probably want to have applied broadly.

Might I ask what you're sitting on right now stat-wise?

Eh, amacas takes about 4 weeks to verify and release as well.

Hmm, a 3 point fall has got to hurt. Tbh I would message Goro and ask his opinion on the matter. He may give you the green light to outright apply right now. But who knows.

I know the primary takes 2 weeks or so to get verified, but once the primary application is sent to DO schools, don't they immediately send you the secondaries?

Some of the secondaries are available immediately on the schools website. Other schools screen their applicants and take some time before sending them out, usually in september after this years class has been set finally.

I would apply and list your retake date. You can email adcoms and ask them to not review your file until your retake grade is updated. October isn't late but the earlier is better with rolling admissions. I didn't submit my secondaries until mid january and still got in.

It's not late, but it's not really early either. You'll be fine.

That is what I was thinking.... In my case I am submitting late July and prewrite all or most of my secondaries while waiting for my score to be in September 6th. Therefore, I am submitting all my secondaries mid- September... I don't think that is not late at all...Is it?

If you submit early, it might take two weeks. But if you submit August and up, it might probably take 4+ weeks.....

Might seem like a stupid question, but are we not allowed to submit secondaries without our final MCAT score? I've already sent my primary in and I have a retake scheduled for July 26th.

I submitted my secondaries starting in October and was fine.
