Apparently quite the addiction from what I have seen and heard. Definitely not harmless. There are some good mini-docs on YouTube.

We see a fair number of patients who have withdrawal and show up in the ER. I think there is a couple of different types with the high potency 7-OH being the most problematic right now. Usually takes high dose bupe to stabilize these people. As it isn't regulated people will self-escalated to significant amounts and then get into trouble. The "its all natural, and safe" marketing has harmed a lot of people.

Yeah, I saw a few people who were either taking it for fun, or trying to wean off opioids by using it. That or Neptune's Fix, which was another gas station hit. Working in the ER was often a reminder as to precisely why why toxicology is an EM fellowship.
