I am a freshman at the University of Utah majoring in biology. If you may be so kind to give me advice. I am going on a mission when I reach nineteen and I was wondering if I should take a biology class before I leave. I also was wondering if I should take elementary chemistry or elementary physics. I also was wondering what English class I should in preparation for the DAT.

My two cents 😉

I assume you will be taking all your classes as normal for your degree and pre-reqs for dental school, just with a year off in the middle (or however long). It doesn't really matter when you take a specific class, like Bio before you go or after. General chemistry and Physics [with labs] are requirements for most or all dental schools. If your college has a General Education Requirement for English or writing, that usually is sufficient (2-3 quarters or 2 semesters).

You should probably check out the pre-requisites for a couple dental schools to get a general idea of what classes are required. This may or may not coincide with your major's or Gen-Ed classes. As you get closer to dental school, you can decide which classes to take to help you do better in Dental school or do better on the DAT.

I'm graduating in the spring from the U of U and am applying for dental school during this current cycle. Perhaps I could give you a bit of advice and some insight to specific classes. PM me if you would like.
