Hi so I'm trying to apply Early Decision at Tulane and it must be submitted by August 1st. My problem is I took my MCAT June 15th and just got my score July 16th; but in order for me to get my application verified in time I submitted my app to a "throwaway school" Harvard out of my MCAT and GPA range. Is there anyway I can remove Harvard from my school list and just apply to Tulane? Can I still apply Early Decision or should I start grinding at secondaries to lots of schools?

A lot of people also are asking me why I didn't just apply to only Tulane in the first place. This is because my first MCAT score was a 493, and I didn't want to get screened out automatically by Tulane.

You cant remove Harvard from your list without withdrawing your application completely through AMCAS. My best guess is that you’re stuck as far as early decision goes.

1) No.

2) You cannot apply Early Decision to Tulane since you've already designated another AMCAS school on your application. So you may as well add more schools.

And if you withdraw your application through the AMCAS application (which can only be done prior to verification), you are barred from applying through AMCAS again in the same application season.

FYI: Had you submitted an Early Decision application to AMCAS after getting your MCAT score back on July 16, you'd have been put on a fast track for transcript verification. It probably would have taken about one day.

Man I wish I would have known about that. Thanks for the clarification.
