Hi all, I was hoping to get some help on a few things!!
First off im a non sci major (poly sci with a minor in biology) and im hoping to go to a DO school, but will be applying to both DO and MD programs. I have been looking into research opportunities but am having a hard time finding any for a person with a small amount of science background. I was hoping for any suggestions on what to do?
Also, I am interested in community/public health and would like to go into primary care. I am currently working with our school's internship coordinator to be able to get an internship with the chicago public health department. How do you think that would look? I mean im waiting for hospitals to contact me about volunteer apps and i tutor once a week in a low-income area and i also work. I know these ECs aren't medically related but I have heard arguments from both sides...
Also, I just read this one post about a fall back plan and kinda freaked-im really set on medicine, like REALLY and i don't know what a good fall back would be if it doesn't go as planned the first time around. i am going to take an EMT course next semester to get certified to have an interesting job and to have some major experience that is related to what i desire to do for the rest of mylife...i mean there is always the what if...and yes, i hae thought about nursing..but i KNO once i get into that i will stay and i don't want to do that.
any advice is GREATLY appreciated!!
