i have a 3.935 gpa and 22/22/21 DAT from a university, BUT i only took 10 credits a semester but still finished in 4 years due to summer semesters...what are my chances.....i dont really have that, but just wondering how that would look, cuz when someone says they have a 4.0, u dont really kno if its a 4.0 from a 10 semseter courseload from a community college.

ALSO, lets say i only need 15 credits my senior year, but the class i NEED to take is in the spring semester, can i just skip the entire fall semester, or do i have to take classes to fill up the nonrequired semester

i'm sure some school will accept you. but i don't know why you'd only take 10 credits a semester...if you haven't gotten used to being challenged in college, how are you going to manage in dental school?

Although dental schools will not have an accurate indication of how well you can handle a large course load at one time, I don't see how you would have any trouble getting in. I am not an adcom so my opinion does not really mean anything, but I think admissions is moreso a numbers game but I could be wrong.

what if lets say, i took 14 credits each semester, then 12 each semester my senior year, what about that. I dont see how u people manage to take 5 science classes each semester, 3 is hard as hell already.

Well, maybe if we only had 3, we'd also have a 3.935 😀 Honestly, getting into dental school is easy. The 4 years of dental school, now that's hard! If you can't hang in undergrad, it's gonna be tough to hang in dental school. But then again, you're getting high marks so maybe your marks will drop at first..by a lot, but then climb back up once you adjust. who knows

I dont have that...that was a hypothetical situation. So you're saying you dont find it difficult getting A's while taking Physics, Physics lab, Organic Chemistry, Orgo lab, Developmental Biology, Human Anatomy, and Fundamental Genetics all in one semester ~17 credits

The punchline here is that threads with titles like this pop up pretty routinely...except most of them are parodies & not serious. 😉

Your chances are ok. Not terrible, but not that great. Why not a 4.0?

Not really and I attend one of the most competitive undergrads in the world so it's not cuz it's easy. I guess that as a 4th year, i've learned how to get good marks without stressing. Now, if I knew in 2nd year what I know now, I'd probably be sitting here with a 3.9 GPA. But hell, I wouldn't trade some of my failures for anything because I learned from them.

You'll get into some really good dental schools, dont sweat it.
