Help! I think my PI is lying to me - should I inquire to HR myself??

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
who remembers a thread made 6 months ago...

OP is known for making garbage threads that have different disguises, but basically are all "I can't make decisions on my own, help me" at the core. For some reason they burn infectious holes in my memory.

What was your 6,678th post?

Certainly. Anytime I see someone make an inappropriate comment, I reverse IP search them, find out their name and contact the medical schools they applied to in order to inform them of the mistake the applicant has made.

I remember them all in alphabetical order. Not by number.

The fact that you're doing research to get paid comes off as insincere anyway. You sound like an ******* lol.

Why? working for free makes you more of an ******.

If you're considering getting an LOR from this PI for med school apps, and if you think the HR people would contact him if you go to them, then if I were in your shoes, I'd just take the hour cut and move on. For me, getting into a good med school > getting paid more in a lab where I'm working temporarily.
I think this is sound advice. I think it is important to consider the long term benefits here.

that makes sense

wow so many bratty kids in this thread. and kids with no life outside of sdn hahaha

OP, its probably the rules of your university OR the union that runs the place that you must be converted to full time with benefits after a certain period or busted down to minimal work hrs/week. the problem is benefits are HUGELY expensive, which is one of the reasons no body seems to get hired FT right away anywhere ever (especially in the biotech industry in SD). So unless your PI sees you as a super worthy investment hes probably going to do what hes doing now, hes not lying, its just how it is. plenty of ppl lose their jobs because funding runs out or whatever, you just spice up your resume and get something new.
