Touro Middletown vs LECOM Elmira
Hi everyone! I’ve been fortunate enough to receive 2 A’s this cycle so far, and the deposits are due soon. With that being said, I wanted to ask if people had any thoughts on which of these schools is a better choice for me. Both are relatively close to home for me.
Touro Middletown
Pros:
- liked the vibe better
- seemed like there was more board prep in curriculum/gave more 3rd party resources
- closer to nyc/Long Island where I’d like to match for residency
- every Friday is a more free day (no mandatory events)
Cons:
- pricier tuition
- seems like match rate is lower but I also know there are a lot of hoops to jump through at LECOM to sit for COMLEX so idk.
LECOM Elmira
Pros:
- cheaper (could cover tuition with federal loans)
Cons:
- dress code
- no eating and drinking in classrooms
- mandatory attendance on more days than Touro
- I have to take 2-3 more classes in prereqs
Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated! I am interested in a surgical specialty (OB/GYN or urogynecology).
