just want to ask you guys.. on many of the school's personal statements, one of the questions would be: "why do you want to apply to XXXX"

I'm sure many people say that their school is great, PharmD program is fantastic, faculty is great, blah blah... is that what everyone writes? i think it is too generic, but then, how personal can we get on those topics...

Yeah, that's the same stuff I wrote about--curriculum, location, reputation, etc.

You have to spend some time researching the school. They want to know if you really know what they do.

For example....a little search on my school - UCSF...you can find out what honors & awards have been given to faculty. You can find out what programs are being worked on to correlate student teaching with biotechnology, clinical practice settings in the community & insititutions, political interventions (Medicare Part D), telepharmacy, etc....

But...you have to gear your essay to THAT specific school - it can't be a one essay for every secondary because every school may not have those same areas of interest from the faculty.

So...spend a little time & effort researching the school - if its that important - you'll find a way! Then...you can expect an interesting interview & will be able to ask good questions.

Good luck!
