hey am an international student
just got done with my final yr of dental school
i plan to give my boards soon
but just a confusion here i wanted to know before givin my exam wuld it be better for me to do residency and then give my boards and then apply for dds..if i do residency first...my time will not go in waste ?? or just for go for boards n dds simply and dont do residency ??
please anyone out there help me out
i need advice, help and suggestions

its really upto you.
getting into residencies is not easy either..you will have to go thru TOEFL, maybe GRE for some courses, a personal interview for most and a bench test incase of prostho. so the time you spend preparing for all these things is gonna be substantial.
might as well give the boards and apply to DDS directly.
when you come to the US for ur part 1 board, make sure you observe a US dentist for some months, that will add a lot to your application - be it to a residency or a dds.
DDS is the surest and safest way if your goal is a licence to practice in the US.
