Is it tougher to get into Yale or Penn? I am being told by my advisors to apply to some of these schools, and I am considering applying to the less competitive one of the two (even though both are insanely tough). Thanks for the help!

Penn is harder/more competitive/more highly ranked. Objectively, this is certainly true, but I'm also Penn undergrad, so of course I'm biased ;-).
But US News, etc. etc. all rank Penn notably higher than Yale.
Ciao,

Apply to the school you would most rather go to. Deciding which one is more difficult to get into is like splitting hairs. They both draw from essentially the same applicant pool(ie amazing all stars) so I'd imagine it is equally difficult to get into both schools.

If I were you I would just base my decision on which school I would rather go to. Which curriculum you like better, which location, etc.

I agree with UCLAMAN. Also, who knows, they may see something in you that they really like. I applied to Penn on the off chance this happens for me!🙂 And my MCAT is nothing spectacular, you just never know.

I definitely agree, trying to pick the less competitive school is splitting hairs as UCLAMAN said. And it's no use trying to make any guesses like that at this point, because you can't get into the adcom's head. If you like both schools, apply to both, they are both awesome...for different reasons. I got into Penn but was waitlisted at Yale...so don't pay as much attention to the rankings for the top schools. They are all equally hard to get into...and as you will hear from everyone else, ya just never know! 😉 Apply away!
