help with app

Ok, so May 15th is here and this long process has oficially started!!!
I started filling out the app. today and I have couple of questions.
1) ethnicity question: if you check group "other", the box for "other" and "mexican/ latin/latina" gets checked automaticcly. So, is there any way to specify my ethnicity? I mean that other is supposed to be other not mexican or latina?

2) I do not know what to do about disadvantaged student section , on MD there is only question like: Do you consider yourself disadvantaged and if yes then you can explain for all the years .However, on the app. for DO there is question if I consider myself a disadvanteged and if so, is it economically or medically or both. So it is like disadvantaged or not at this moment only.I do not consider myself such student at this point, but I certainly was disadvantaged student untill 2002 or so. What to do?Thank you so much.

You can in your personal statement. That's where I put mine. Also, i think this app is weird.. if you haven't seen the other threads the application's instructions are for dental school... they were too lazy. Anyways, I think it's just a kink in the system.

It really makes me mad that there are mistakes in the app, it looks like they are not proffesional, what kind of schools can not even have a corect app.argh!!!!! 😡 😡 😡 😡 😡 😡 😡 😡 😡

they made some changes and there are some bugs that need to be worked out. Sucks but you can email or call AACOMAS to fix it.

Ok, so I called the Aacomas about the mistake on the app reagrding the place for the ethnicity. Yup there is no place for Other, that other is not really other, its only to designate what kind of Latino/a you are in case that 10 listed categories of Latinos doesn't do it for you......oh well I live in 45% Hispanic town, does that count 😀
