Hello everyone,

I am trying to develop a list of DO schools and I am having difficulty to find information due to the lack official rankings.
My stats : Non-trad, MCAT 31, scGPA oaGPA= 3.4 (over 150 credits, last two years on a University 3.93, all A's on upper div courses). Good research, volunteer , yada yada.... I received a few II from MD schools, so I know my app is ok/no red flags.
Shadowed one DO (dermatology). No DO LOR.

I would like to live close(r) to the ocean or in "foresty/mountany " area. However I am more concerned with the quality of education above everything else. Quality of education trumps location. But if there is not a "big" disparity between the quality of education between schools, I will take the location.

My states of preference for living (ranking).

1- California
2- Florida-Nevada (Reno area, near family)
3-Oregon-Washington
4-Colorado -Arizona
5-anywhere close to the ocean ( 2-3 hours drive ok).

I want to apply to 6-8 schools.
This is my list so far:

1-Western University of Health Sciences/College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific (CA)
2- Touro CA
3-Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine Bradenton Campus (Florida)
4-A.T. Arizona
5-Rocky Vista Colorado

Any suggestions/input will be greatly appreciated it.

Thanks in advance

I would recommend the more established schools if I were you.

Keep in mind all DO schools provide solid education and resources, it's up to you to make use of it.

If you want Forests and nature I would say:

ATSU SOMA, PNWU, Western University Oregon, RVU (even though I don't like the founder its still a decent school), Nova Southeastern University (there is a beach 5 minutes away, LECOM Bradenton. AZCOM is also another great program to consider.

If you want quality of education then its schools like:
CCOM, PCOM, Ohio Heritage, KCUMB, MSU.

I suggest a larger list.

I recommend:

1- California
2- Florida-Nevada (Reno area, near family)
3-Oregon-Washington
4-Colorado -Arizona
5-anywhere close to the ocean ( 2-3 hours drive ok).

Western University of Health Sciences/College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific (CA)
Touro CA
TUNCOM
Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine Bradenton Campus (Florida)
A.T. Arizona
Rocky Vista Colorado
Nova SE
UNECOM (but the water is cold!)
Western-OR
PacNW
ACOM
Wm Carey
CUSOM
both PCOMs
All three VCOMs
Touro-NY and NYITCOM (Jones Beach and Wading River parks are great in the summer)
