I'm a second year at nycom. If you do a search on here you may be able to find some more info. Dont sweat the interview. It's usually pretty laid back. The secondary is simple... typical Q's such as "why osteopathic medicine", "Why nycom", etc. The interview is more of the same. When they ask why nycom, tell them you're impressed with the very stong hospital clerkship opportunities, the technology integration (all lectures are taped on streaming video online, all students get PDAs, high speed internet at every lecture seat, etc) and the residency match of late (pretty impressive the past few years). Large research projects at nycom include the parkinson's research center, headed by Dr. Enrico Fazzini, D.O., PhD, he supposedly sees more Parkinsons patients than anyone in the world, and also Lyme Disease, headed by Dr. Charles Pavia. Know yourself and your application very well. Be honest and enthusiastic, especially about osteopathic medicine. They have rejected friends of mine with very impressive numbers who gave the impression that D.O. school was a backup. Be honest about where you apply, but be a bit more excited about the D.O. schools. Lastly, relax, take it all in. The students are on spring break this week, so it should be pretty quiet there.
good luck.
