Hey all. This is my first time post so I'll get right into it - I'm trying to make myself as competitive as possible for medical school/pa school (still haven't 100% decided yet) but more than likely want to go into clinical medicine. Here is all of it condensed.

Graduated University 3 years ago 2023 cGPA 3.19 & sGPA 2.9 142 total credits. Started working as pt aide & med scribe which pointed me more toward clinical medicine. Since then postbacc courses improved stats with Spring 2025 at cGPA 3.2 & sGPA 2.99. Recently completed online UNE Microbio w/ lab final grade A and molecular bio/exercise physiology are projected to be the same. Provided this projection occurs I'm still only at cGPA 3.25 & sGPA 3.1 165 total credits. Prereqs including physics 1&2, calc, general bio/chem are out the way (every single bio course in undergrad was a C lmao but chem and physics were from B minus to A+ range). Have to complete prereqs Orgo 1/2 or biochem.

Other stats: PCE: 1,110 hours. Volunteering: None currently. Shadowing: None currently. MCAT: Not taken yet. I understand others have to be fulfilled but the MCAT & GPA are unequivocally what will ultimately make the difference. If I keep up with my DIY postbacc and finish Orgo 1 & Biochem by end of Spring 2027 with A's in both I'm at cGPA 3.28 & sGPA 3.16 with 172 total credits (If I get A's in both). After all these prereqs are done I would have to take thirty four more credits to even get a 3.4 GPA to get above the "soft threshold rejection". Does it make sense to immediately go for SMP after I complete Orgo I & Biochem or continue along with the DIY postbacc?

TL DR: 2023 cGPA 3.19/sGPA 2.91 CURRENT PROJECTED 2026 cGPA 3.25/sGPA 3.1. If I continue to get A's in Orgo1/Biochem by END OF SPRING 2027 I would STILL need 34 more credits of continuous A's to reach 3.4 cGPA. So what makes more sense -go for an SMP after the Orgo1/Biochem credits are completed or continue DIY postbacc? Appreciate advice.
