-URM African-American, TX resident
-Graduated with ~2.7 GPA, complete a DIY post bacc with a ~3.9 where I retook some classes and took extra upper division classes. Final GPA ~3.1 cumulative and science
-old MCAT 23 (9PS, 6 VS, 8BS), RETAKING in July
Extracurriculars
-NCAA athlete 4 years (at least 2000 hours)
-Volunteered abroad in hospital (~300 hours)
-Mentored 5 freshmen minority students (~100 hours)
-Medical scribe (~300 when I submit end of June, continuing throughout my gap year)
-Camp counselor one summer (~400 hours)
- volunteer in radiology department to put images in CD's (~100 hours)
-Tutor (~50 hours)
Shadowing
-Urology (~10 hours)
-working on finding a DO to shadow this week (also to get a LOR)
If I get ~27-28 equivalent on the new MCAT, what are my chances?
Which schools should I definitely NOT apply to besides the state schools ?
