Hi everyone, I just got my MCAT back today and scored a 503 (125/128/125/125). A little disappointed because it’s lower than my FL averages but relieved I can apply. I just now need any and all advice for a school list. I’ve put together a list of 17 schools but want to maximize my opportunities as applying is expensive.

-FL resident: 3.4 s/cGPA 503 MCAT
-4 yr student-athlete (1 as Team Captain)
-200 hrs of clinical volunteering in the PACU
-100 hrs interning at a physical therapy clinic specializing in children with Limb Length deficiencies
-100 hrs volunteering helping my local community (setting up holiday events for kids etc.)
-25 hrs shadowing an internal Medicine DO (w/ LoR)
-Awarded a Research grant from my school to study a topic of my choice (Poster Presentation and PowerPoint in front of school board; Won award for best Poster Presentation)
-1 yr tutoring 3 courses

School List:

ACOM
ARCOM
ATSU-KCOM
ATSU-SOMA
BCOM
CUSOM
CCOM
DMU
VCOM
PCOM-GA
ICOM
KCU
LMU-DCOM
NYIT
NSU
RVU
UNE

Thank you for your help!
I would forgo CCOM (insanely expensive), LMU and ICOM (bad clinical rotations), NSU (low pass rates on their board exams) also ICOM you have to take private loans until they graduate their inaugural class. I would add MUCOM, any Touros not in NY, WVSOM, and all LECOMs, and VCOMs, and PCOMs. The rest of your list is fine.

I agree with most of this but just want to throw a small clarification in there Re: ICOM loans. They won't have full accreditation until their first class graduates (Class of 2022), but they will be eligible to apply for federal loan program in August of 2020, which means they are anticipating having federal loans available for Fall of 2021 (4th year of inaugural class and Second year for class of 2024). They also mentioned that when approved it is possible to retroactively take loans out to pay for any schooling that occurred after their initial application (8/2020), so it is possible that the loan issues with ICOM could be resolved for all classes for this upcoming application cycle onward. I do not understand the logistics of the retroactive loan thing, I am simply repeating information that was presented to me when I interviewed there this past cycle.
