I just retook my mcat after getting a 21 a few years ago. Got a 19. wondering if i have any chance at any DO school. GPA of 3.07. I know probably not, but not even a single school?

sorry bud you'll have to get more than that on ur mcat to get in. Your gpa is not that high that it'll compensate for low mcat. I'm worried that you might get screened by most schools pre-secondary.

Honestly, I severely doubt you have a shot. Your GPA is below the average and your MCAT is well below average. Unless you have some absolutely remarkable portion of your application I don't see it. A score of a 19 shows a fundamental lack of either the necessary knowledge or necessary test taking skills. If you are serious about medical school I suggest you invest in an MCAT course and retake. I'd also suggest increasing your GPA a bit and applying next cycle.

yeah, i figured as much. My husband told me that this should be my last chance, and if I do well, great, if not, i should look at doing something else. I am apparently not getting anywhere, and I need to help out by getting a job. So I don't think he'd be supportive of me taking the mcat a 4th time.

Thanks anyway guys

4th? I only saw the 21 and 19. If its what you want he should support you. Like I said though, something isn't clicking and honestly a prep class may be the best thing for you

Yeah, I'd recommend taking a TPR or Kaplan prep course if it's truly something you want to pursue (or even private tutoring through those companies). But as is, you probably don't have a great shot with that score and GPA.

I have taken 3 times: 17, 21 and 19. The 17 was the summer I had a stroke, which was five years ago. It took some time to recover, and attempted again. so if I were to take it again, it would be a 4th time. I really want it, but i am now seriously thinking that I might not be able to cut it, which is hard to digest because I was getting 30-32s in practice exams the summer before my stroke.
