I figured out most of my rank list, but i'm having so much trouble deciding what order to put GW, Northwestern, and Drexel/Hahnemann in. I got a generally good impression from all three, so I'm trying to be objective in considering quailty of education and training, but it has been really hard. Does anyone have any input???? I'm getting a little anxious to get this thing in and my deliberations are endless.....

i would put Northwestern on top. even though it's not the strongest program, the name (and location) are pretty good. GW would be second, then Drexel third. I went to Drexel and the faculty were very friendly. however, i'd be a little weary of them since i've heard they are still having financial difficulties and may close their doors at any time.

but those are just my opinions.

Although I thought the faulty at Drexel was approachable and down to earth, I didn't think that they had the best clinical and surgical volume. I don't remember exact #'s but it seemed like their surgical cases were on the lower end. Also a pgy-2 told me that in a typical clinic day she usually sees 3-5 patients in the morning and roughly the same in the afternoon. It seems that in most other programs, pgy-2s see about twice as many patients, if not more.

3-5 a morning and as much in an afternoon wow that's not enough patients. I prefer much more than that. more pts = more surgery. twice as much is still not much of a load. i believe you want to see all you can and do as much as possible in residency. at our program on my laser rotation i can get up to 12 patients for laser in one day. you cant generate that kind of volume without seeing a lot of patients.
