Just keep working on practice-word problems and algebra are the biggies. When test day comes, if you have no idea how to do a problem SKIP IT. Let me repeat that....SKIP IT. (of course guess, but don't waste time) I didn't and regretted that decision. Others will tell you the same.

I only got 18 on the QR section but thats because I was the idiot who underestimated it and didn't put too much effort into learning it.

MATH destroyer is an excellent book. Those 400 problems are VERY similar (about 70-80% are just going to be repeated on the real QR but just with different numbers). I guess you can take each one of the 10 tests as timed (45 minutes). At the end of the test, go back over EVERY PROBLEM (but without a timer obviously) and relearn how to do it. This will take 2-4 hours a day just doing problems and reviewing answers. I know it sounds silly, but it will all be over in 2 weeks 🙂

Like jay47 said, during the real test, if you come accross a problem and you have NO IDEA how to start it, RIGHT AWAY put down any answer / mark it, then move on. Don't ever spent time thinking how to do a problem cause thats a mistake many folks do. When you read a problem, you should (within 2-3 seconds when your done reading it) to know how to approach the solution, I know it sounds silly, but with practice you WILL get good at it. There is only a limited types of problems they can throw at ya, once you master all of them, your going to be in good shape

I am having the same problem. How else did everyone study for the QR?? Any use Crack the DAT math??

i suck at math as well and what i did was first go over kaplan for basic math review........then i tried to make flashcards for equations even found online flashcards........then i did math destroyer which was the best thing in my opinion for the math section in terms of difficulty its 400 problems which seems like a lot but it just gets u used to the problems it came with my regular destroyer so i thought it was a good deal topscore seemed to easy for math...........these would be the best resources to use to get a decent score on the math.

thanks everyone for your advice. I will do my best and cross my fingers wishing my neurons to start firing and accepting math.

Before you go all avatar mode... here are some suggestions. For math DAT the important thing that you have to understand is

-What is the question asking you... Sometime what happens is the question is very simple but it will ask you to do (1.08)^17 so try learning to guesstimate and guess and skip.
-Understanding formulas. What do I mean by this. when i taught math for couple of high school and college kids... what they do it they tend to just plug and chug until they get a suitable answer or close to any of the answers. What you need to do is break the formulas and understand what each part of the formula does... ex: if they ask you the surface area of a can not including the top and bottom... you need to know how to take the regular formula and split it to see which part of the formula belongs to which part of the cylinder.
-And dont be scared to skip. But the imp. part is GUESTIMATE before you move to next question. some people have a strategy what they do is they keep skipping all the word problems... but dont do that guesstimate then quickly move to next question. b/c when you come to the end of the test with 1 minute to go... its not wise to blindly guess on the questions that you didnt not even read the question for. any ways practice to make your skills faster but good luck. :luck:

Thanks you peanut123...( and yes I do the plug and chug things:meanie:) I have to overcome my turtle pace and try to estimate more.

I think math destroyer is a must. I got 20 with it. I could have gotten better score if I actually paid attention to what I thought was not gonna be on real test but was on Math destroyer.
