Tried to get an answer using Search, but not many have asked about cladistics.

How important is this diagram? The DAT guide lists cladistics as an important topic to know...

nice I remember that diagram from Bio1AL lab manual

I don't think we have to know those in detail for DAT IMO even though I was memorizing those with my ass off for lab quiz every week

Just phylums and characteristics will do

I think they will test you more along the lines of how to interpret a cladistic...like what is a monophyletic group or which of these traits is an analagous trait after looking at the cladistic. DAT q vault has a couple good cladistic analytic problems.

IMO, you shouldn't memorize this diagram, but you should know how/what they used to determine this? There is biochemistry involvement with the answer

Omg. What is this?! Cliff AP bio doesn't seem to cover it..

LOL don't worry this is wayy too detailed. I wouldn't even memorize any of that just see how they got the map, derived it using what kind of cladistics and what kind of tools.

For each of the branches I would also see what differentiates them that makes each of the individual branches. That helps not just memorizing this.
