Hey, wanted a 22 cal as plinker/economic alternative for the range. Got a Sig Mosquito, cool gun but very finicky with ammo, jams. Anyone have any experience with what works well/tips on this gun.
Dont want to keep buying expensive CCI ammo like stingers, might as well stick with 9mm.
Thanks
PS- wish Glock made a .22 cal, i can shoot concrete chips out of my Glock, never fails.👍

Maybe you got a dud. Those are supposed to be pretty decent pistols. You could try ordering a new (factory...not aftermarket) magazine or just contact Sig and see what they have to say. Another possibility might be to a polish job on the feed ramp, but I'd contact Sig first.

Unfortunately the Sig Mosquito has a reputation for being finicky about ammo.

I would definitely contact Sig and see if you can get them to address it, or find a competent gunsmith to see if they have a solution.

couple other options for guns with a reputation for feeding anything you put in them, are Ruger Mark II or III and Walther P22.

another option, although its almost as expensive as buying another gun, is a 22 conversion for your Glock.
Advantage arms makes a complete replacement upper for most of the glocks that will shoot 22. I have one, and it has eaten anything I have fed it, but I don't know about reputation for reliability.

i want out (of IRR)

Easy, get yourself a vintage colt woodsman. Fantastic.

I've gotta Glock 9mm.

I agree with your Glock assessment.

Throw your non-Glock POS in the garbage.😀

thanks Jet........like so many things in here your wisdom is appreciated.
If surgeons were as dependable as a Glock, wouldnt that be something.🙂

hey...........figured it out. Just feed the Sig Mosquito CCi minimags and this gun is a blast. I fired 300 rounds today and was like a fine tuned fiddle.
Plus at Walmart CCi minimags which are pricey over regular 22s are only like 6.50 a box 0f 100count. Better than the 30$something a box of 40 cal cost now.
