Hhmi summer medical fellowship

Does anyone know how competitive the hhmi summer medical fellowship is? I just learned about this program and I am applying as fast as I can since the deadline is feb 15th. Anyone have experience with this?

Well, given that you need to find an HHMI mentor who's willing to help you put together a project proposal, there are natural barriers to the number of applications.
