High GPA + MSc No MCATS

here is my story
I graduated with a 3.8 gpa in biology, have an MSc in molecular bio (3.9 grad gpa) but the last time i took a standardized test was the sat's. and i have forgot a good portion of gen chem and physics, and am probably not the greatest standardized test taker in the world. What are the lowest MCATS you guys have seen and have been accepted to schools in the carribean, Specifically St George's

the average to get into SGU is a 24 on the MCAT but with your stats and a mid 20's MCAT you should do fine. Heck the last time I took a huge standardized exam before the aug 2005 MCAT was the SAT which I took in 1996 so it was 9 years and I got a 27. So give it a shot, you should be fine.

I don't mean to sound rude, but why are you considering a foreign medical school with your stats? If you have a 3.8 you probably did very well in your science courses, so pick up an mcat review book and study for the test. With your stats any school outside the u.s. should not even be an option at this point, unless you want to study medicine in a different country. If you take a year to study for the mcat and do really well, you will have avery good chance to gain admission into a top 25 u.s. school. During the year do some research, volunteer, anything that will build up your application, study for the mcat, and you'll have a very good chance at a top 25 u.s. school.

I totally app. the boost of confidence buddy. Actually i have straight A' in all my biology coarses i took straight through to my masters with 2 A-'s, even A's in O-chem.its just that im one of those guys who had to study 8 hours 6 days a week on top of class and homeworkto get them, then you kind of forget the gen chem and physics ( i hated both, took gen chem prob 4 years ago and physics 2) so now i would have to go back and probably re teach it to myself and have no idea where to begin. Trust me dude i dont want to to go a foreign school. My dad went to mexico in the 80's and took him YEARS to get through. some of his buddies never even passes at all. Thats just why i asked

If you go to a good foreign school you definately won't have the same problems as your dad did, I can guarantee you that because I went to a caribbean school. And honestly if I offended you in my earlier post I am sorry, I did not mean to. If you really did that much studying to get those grades, then you deserve to go to one of the better u.s. schools.

If you want to score >30 on the mcat, you can easily do that with one year of preparation. Buy the review books and supplement them with textbooks that professors use in college. If you don't understand something in the review books, use the textbook for further reading. Review everything, do as many practice problems as you can, take as many practice tests as you can find, and whatever you are having trouble with go back and review that material. You have eight months to study for the mcat, that's plenty of time to study and take practice tests. Trust me, if you do this you will get a score of at least 30...and even if you get something less, you will still have a very good chance at a u.s. school because your gpa is excellent. You probably worked really hard to achieve those grades, and you owe it to yourself to attend a school that you want to go to.

not at all man, i greatly appreachiate your words of encouragement, you know its funny hearing you say what you did made me realize exactly what i have to do. Its funny how things come across, or how extreemly true they sound when they are comming from an outside source
