I went to an academically rigorous high school.
My high school had an agreement with a few of the state schools that getting certain grades in certain courses would give us college credit. Professors from each university came to my high school, sat in on classes/labs, looked at the syllabus, and signed an agreement.
This is what happened to me for General Chemistry (8 hours).
AMCAS says they do not accept high school transcripts. However, the grade for this course is listed on a high school transcript.
On my college transcript, it lists my high school's name, along with transfer and 8 hours, but does not specifically say it is for general chemistry credit.
I guess this is kind of like AP, but I didn't have to take the AP exam.
