What is the best thing to tell a High School Student that tells you they are wanting to go to Dental School so they can be an Orthodontist?

A dentist from my hometown has been giving my number out to kids who ask him this question. I need some good responses - Help me out!

Tell those kids that it is great that they think they may have an interest in orthodontics but that they should be open-minded during college and dental school because things change and there is much to learn before making your $400,000+ a year as an orthodontist.

I think I wanted to do every specialty and general dentistry at least once before settling on OMFS. I also wanted to be an accountant, attorney, optometrist, MD, and dentist while in college. I would guess my story is common to many people who go from a 17 year old high school senior to a third year dental student.
