hmmm...wonder what will happen to him?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Hopefully he will win a nice chunk of change in a lawsuit against the Louisiana police. There is nothing in the video or the accompanying article that suggests he did anything wrong before being body slammed by a rather over-eager policeman.

Having a drink in a bar and refusing to leave without getting your credit card back turns into "public intoxication, criminal trespassing, and resisting arrest?" lol only in America. Video shows both dudes, already outside of the bar, calmly trying to reason with the police before being bodyslammed and arrested with zero provocation.

Notably race apparently plays no role in this example of police brutality which is getting scant media coverage at best. Only in America indeed.

omfg what is wrong with me that in so much of this ****, race doesn't even occur to me as a factor?

I mean, would that video look much better if it was white on white? my opinion, no

We only are seeing a part of the story but the part that we do see does not look good on the police behalf. It will be interesting to see what comes of this.

I don't see how anything in that video alters how good (or bad) he is as a doctor. I don't even know why he would be investigated by his hospital. Regardless of whether he is at fault or not in this confrontation, he was on vacation, off-duty, thousands of miles from his hospital. Medicine in general should get their collective asses unstuck.

If he's convicted of crimes involving drunkenness, he will have to report it to the licensing board in his state and they may want him to join a physician substance abuse monitoring program. Otherwise, if he's not convicted, probably nothing will happen to him. He isn't doing anything super egregious like assaulting an uber driver or anything.
