i have a concern. i was reading the other threads about international students getting US residencies, but i'm a little in doubt...i was thinking about going to the Rep. of Panama for med school and trying to come back to the US for my residency. possibly in like family practice. is it possible to do this and how hard would it be since its not like europe or carribean?

If you are interested in Family Medicine I think I can pretty much guarantee that you will be able to find a spot in the U.S. There are currently many more positions than applicants for FM spots. Most other specialties with the exception of psych and medicine (in some places) it is very difficult to get a position if you are a foreign grad. I personally would exhaust all my U.S. training options, both MD and DO before heading overseas.
