If I study another branch of science completely unrelated to medicine just for fun, do I put in a hobby entry dedicated to just that one hobby? Or should I mix it in with my other hobbies in one hobby entry?

If it helps, if I am asked about it in an interview, I can explain it in-depth while keeping it in layman's terms and blow away my interviewer.

You can do either depending on spaces at your disposal and room needed for adequate explanation.

If you like reading about, say, meteorology, then yes, it's fine to list as a hobby.
