The difference between licensure and renewing your board certification is hardy pointless.

When both can drastically effect your ability to get a job, the difference quite frankly doesn't matter. If this is some strange attempt to make the ridiculous requirement of the AOA to force membership on DOs look less ridiculous, it is not working.

I edited my previous post to explain further.

I'm no AOA apologist. I'm not sure why you're assuming that. I'm simply explaining the functional difference between the concept of AOA membership being required to have a license to practice and AOA membership being require to take your board recertification exam every 10 years.
