Hey Guys, Has anyone been placed on hold buy Western? Is this like a list below the waitlist (i.e. they will pick people from the waitlist first) which mean 0% chance of getting in right? Also, I've heard that the "hold" status means that there is something wrong with your application and they have to verify something. Any respond will be much appreciated. Thanks.

I am not sure but last year I got a "HOLD" letter from WesternU as well. Then in April, they rejected me w/o an interview.

Oh, I got an interivew on december 8 and just found out my status today.

Hi I got my hold letter too. A hold letter after an interview is not bad. It just means they want to check out other applicants before making a decision on you. From my understanding there is no alternative list until they finish interviewing all students. For now they just have a hold list which means you can either get accepted or rejected or get put on wait list down the line...and last year people did get accepted after being placed on hold so lets keep our hopes up for now! 😎

From what i learned (from a faculty member) that there's no wait list at the moment but hold and there is a "small" chance someone on hold will get accepted. Anyway, I'll see you guys (you know who you are ) at USC and UCSD interviews.

Didn't they accept almost 87 people off the wait list last year? i think the chances are still solid.

'hold' means your application is good but but not good enough for an interview...once they accepted those that they've interviewed, you will get a rejection letter....even after you get an interview or someone pulls out the last minute, then maybe

'hold' means your application is good but but not good enough for an interview...once they accepted those that they've interviewed, you will get a rejection letter....even after you get an interview or someone pulls out the last minute, then maybe

is this your opinion or you got your source from someone? because your first statement is ludicrous, if you are not good enough then you will receive a "rejected letter" like several people i know who received rejected letters, otherwise, hold just means they will RE-evaluate your application they might call you to verify some info like class in progress...then they'll decide whether or not to invite you to an interview. your second statement sounds a lot more like waitlist to me.

do u have a competitive gpa? sometimes it comes down to luck so don't be too hard on yourself.

I'm sorry to hear about your hold letter. Keep your chin up! Did you tell the interviewers what you did to improve yourself each subsequent years? I highly encourage you call ask what areas you need to improve on and state that on your PS. They're really friendly people, unlike the University of Spoiled Children.

Cool! I'm from the east bay too (Oakland)! ..and I checked my mailbox and it still hasn't arrived.. maybe the crazy storm blew it away
