Hi,
I know this might have been asked before and I'm likely to get snide remarks but would sending holiday cards to med school interviewers whom you've already sent thank you cards to earlier(let's say 1 month ago) be seen negatively or positively? Would they show how you're interested in the school and still think about your interviewer or would they just be seen as sucking up?

Personally, I think this is a little much. No one can predict how individual interviewers will react to a second card, but let's not forget that this process is in application to professional school and I think Holiday cards are a little bit too personal. It is appropriate and often expected to send thank you notes which are considered a professional courtesy, but I think Holiday cards are a friends/family category.

This is slightly off topic but I sent thank you CARDS to my interviewers and I was rejected from one school post-interview. I'm now wondering if the fact that I sent cards to the interviewers might be seen as unprofessional instead of a Thank you note...My letter within the card was very professional but does anyone think the act of sending a card itself might actually lessen my chances of an acceptance??? It was hard to find a generic looking card but I did my best and the design for the card was basically a bunch of Thank yous in different languages all over the cover(each language itself would be written in English within parentheses) and then 'Thank you' in English on the inside. Does this seem like something that would be unprofessional to send? Now, I'm getting really paranoid...Please respond! Thanks!

Just make sure you send them Christmas presents...You also might want to find out their birthdays and send them birthday cards, cake, ice cream, etc. OP, please tell me you told them Happy Thanks giving too? If you didn't, then they'll probably see you as not being dedicated enough and will most likely reject you. Ya dun' goofed

I doubt it. I sent Thank You cards to all my interviewers thus far and have received both rejections and acceptances. The card doesn't sound unprofessional, but if you are in doubt about whether your message was appropriate, I'm a big fan of polling people I trust and who have more experience with professional transactions than me.

Honest question- where do you put your hands when you are kissing an *****?

Hand written thank you cards are a nice touch. That's it. It doesn't lessen your chances nor better them. End of story.

To display cultural sensitivity, you'd first have to discover which, if any, holiday a given interviewer celebrates. I agree with technopoly.

Seriously, what do you think happens to your card and the other few hundred pieces of mail that she/he gets addressed to her/his work address? While the answer might vary between stockpiling them in a drawer and immediately discarding them in the trash, I would be surprised if anyone would spend more than a few seconds on such a card.

Make sure it's a personalized x-mas card with your picture so they can match your face to it. Here's the holiday card I sent to all of my interviewers:
