it asks for how many total hours for honors/awards/recognition you received. It's kind of an absurd question in my opinion. Am I supposed to know how many hours I worked to get this award? or should I just put 0 hours there?

I did this.

Put whatever you want. I did zero on my app. I'm pretty sure the person reviewing your application is smart enough to interpret it correctly.

For the 2013-2014 application, they changed it up. You have to list total hours rather than hours/week, and it will not allow you to save w/o entering a numerical value.

I just put 0 hrs.

Seriously. They could have done a better job on this section of the application.

What about contact name and email? myself?

Yes, or if you are listing Dean's List or other scholastic awards, you can list your university's registrar.

There's an infinitesimally small chance that they'll call anyone to verify your Honors/Awards list. Don't fret over it.

That's what I'm doing. Using the registrar for Dean's List & graduation honors, office of housing for RA, office of admissions for student hosting, etc.

My adviser told me the same thing; made me feel infinitely better (putting a contact person for everything is so annoying, though I understand why they do it).

Or, you know, people could read the instruction manual. 🙄

Or, you know, they could have an application that makes more sense. 🙄

Moving on. I'm not sure why I didn't think of listing the registrar.

 I thought the application was pretty self explanatory, and the instruction manual answers pretty much every common question that arises on SDN about the app. But I guess they changed the work/activities section a bit since I applied 2 years ago, so maybe it's not as straightforward anymore.

Thanks! Registrar def sounds like the right person.
