After some fruitless searching, I'm making this thread.

I have held a job at a local tier 2 hospital (no primary research happening here) for about 8 months now. I am an EKG technician. Basically, have my own office, take outpatients, and am responsible for EKG administration and pre-MD reading of the entire hospital. I am pretty sure there would be no way this could not count as clinical experience.

My question is, when doing my application (only a sophomore so applying next year) how do I show this and explain to the fullest? I will have over 1000+ hours at that point and I really don't want adcoms to overlook this. Naturally, it will have to be a "work experience" but is there a way to explain the job in full or make it known of the hours? I am nervous an adcom might overlook this when in fact this is a major section of my clinical experience time.

You will have many chances to explain, both on your primary application as well as on secondary applications. Chill out, you won't be applying for several years anyway 🙂

On AMCAS you have to list the number of hours and a description for each activity anyways so you'll be fine.

Thanks, exactly what I was looking for! Actually applying next year! Provided my MCAT goes well, god bless.
