Hey guys, sorry this probably a very boring thread for most of you, but I could use a little help. I'm having trouble finding a hotel in NY to stay at while I interview at NYCPM. Can anyone recommend a hotel that is near the school or relatively close by and on the inexpensive side? Thanks for the help

I do not recommend staying near the school. There are not any hotels very close to that area.

Stay in midtown to get the NYC feel or close to central park.

try hotels.com pick a hotel that is cheap and close to a subway line. The school is on the 4, 5, or 6 (green) trains and several buses stop by the school on 125th st so if you stay on the west side and take the 2, 3, or 1, or 9 (red) trains you can catch a bus that goes from the west to east side on 125th street.

Once you find a hotel call the school and ask for instructions. They will most likely be more than happy to help you. They also know of a hostel down town that many of the students have stayed at. Sometimes they will set up a host for you. If you cannot find a hotel see if you can find a host student to stay with by calling the school.

The Continental Hostel is the only thing I found for under $200.

All the hotels that my family stayed at while I was a student are rediculously expensive this time of year.

Definitely call the school for assistance.

not to steal this ny thread, but for those of you interviewing at DMU i had very good luck staying at the heartland inn by the airport. There is a free shuttle from the airport to the hotel as well as a free shuttle to DMU. After the interview, the hotel pays for a cab to pick you up and return you to the hotel. The room was very clean and the place was just what i needed for a one night stay. Free WiFi as well. I believe it was 65 dollars including tax. kinda hard to beat for the price 👍

Find a hotel near a subway anywhere in the city and you are most likely less than half an hour away from the school.

Good luck on your interview. If you need any info or help, you can always pm me. Hope to see you there next fall.

I stayed at the Pod Hotel located on 51st between 2nd and 3rd. 140/night gets you a nice cozy room with an ipod docking station, flatscreen TV, and free wireless internet. You are only a few blocks from lexington and can take the 6 uptown to 125th in 15 min.

By the way, I just received my acceptance for jan 2008 today!

just cancel the interview and go to SCPM (chicago) 🙂

Choosing a hotel among all of the various facility providers is always a tough job you can find & compare best one from http://www.sletoh.com It’s really a very good online resource. It will help you to compare hotel prices and rates in an instant. You can find hotels according to your budget and requirements. Hope this will work out for you.
