Do schools pay particular attention to how many hours I dedicate towards shadowing? I'm currently shadowing a gen. dentist and an orthodontist.

I think around 100 hours is fine. Anything more is uneccessary
 
lol 100 hours is way more than necessary.

Depends. When I was looking at the packages for interviewees, I just glanced at it to make sure there was a decent number of hours and preferably from more than one provider. I know others wanted to see high double digit hours at the minimum.
 
Some schools require a minimum number of hours, I think Tufts was 30 hours. I've seen 40 hours too.

The more the better.
