Do any current Barry students have suggestions on where a new student should live? Looks like graduate housing is pretty sparse. Any neighboring communities that are relatively safe/nice? Give me the details 😉.

Unfortunately Barry only offers on-campus housing to undergrad students. One complex that might interest you is a gated community called Capri Gardens. It is only 4 blocks from campus and is pretty nice (complete w/a swimming pool, gym and tennis court). You might be able to find someone renting a condo in Capri Gardens on this website http://doitapps2.barry.edu/offcampushousing/
and if not the site has other off-campus housing listings near Barry. Hope this helps, good luck =)

I"ve been talking to a girl who is going to Carlos Albizu Univ this fall and getting her doctorate. We're both from Virginia so we're talking about rooming together. I have an interview at Temple on this coming Friday.. and Barry on the 23rd. I know Temple is more established.. but I really don't think I'd be particularly happy living in Philadelphia. I really love the more tropical areas. I mean.. this is four prime years of my twenties.

We're looking at these apartments:

How is parking at Barry? The apts are 12.X miles from Barry.. and 4 miles from CAU. It's highway driving.. so the distance doesn't bother me.. and the apts look super duper nice.

Are classes usually close together? I don't want to have a long period inbetween classes. I want to go to school.. do all my classes for that day.. then come home.

From what I've heard, parking is a pretty big problem at Barry which is why a lot of people suggest living close to campus. If you get to school early enough I don't see it being much of an issue. As for the class schedules, I'm not sure, I'm actually in the same boat you are, I'll be starting this fall.
