Although the bacteria are different (vibrio vulnificus), it's still a little ironic that bacteria would be the reason he died.

Actually, the most prevalent bacterial cause for the so called "flesh eating disease " is Staphylococcus aureus, which most of you must know, are pretty involved with infections (cellulitis) of the fascia/anatomic spaces in the head and neck region.
 
i guess i won't get that saltwater tank after all...
 
One of my neighbors in Utah had this disease when I was growing up. He recovered but was pretty close to death for a while as I recall. His story was all over the news and I think they even made a mini-TV movie about him.
 
You sure this guy wasn't run over by their Metro train, and they're just trying to cover it up?
