Just curious if more than most people get the same score as their practice tests? Anyone score higher on the real deal? thanks

My real was 4-5 points less than most of the Kaplan Fls

my actual score was 2 points lower than my Kaplan average and 1 point higher than my AAMC average. Average all FL's (kaplan + AAMC) and it was only off by .5 🙂

My actual score is 3 points higher than my lowest Kaplan practice FL and 3 points lower than my highest Kaplan FL.
Side not: if you are taking a Kaplan course make sure you take the AAMC FLs. I thought that the AAMC VR sections were much more similar to the actual exam than the Kaplan VR sections (which were not very good...).

Unfortunately, I never paid to have my Writing Sample graded. Bombed the real thing, and now that I look back at some of my practice essays I can kind-of see why. But I am not complaining, WS doesn't matter much and I hardly spent any time on it.
Anyway, this means there must be at least some science to the practice tests, right? If there is a trend I think most people do a point or two higher than their average. But I don't know much about it. My diagnostics were alot worse, and I didn't take any practice tests between diagnostic and last June. And honestly I think overstudying is the only sure way to do well. Even PR and Kaplan try to overprepare you. Strategy doesn't help much.

regrettably, I didn't have the cash to take the Kaplan course. The prospect of doing well w/o Kaplan seemed really farfetched, and I ended up studying (what I think was) way too much. Again regrettably, as I didn't have access to the Kaplan exams, I had to rely on a friend of mine who did. The diagnostic test I took was paper, both practice tests were on the computer, and I have no info for you. Sorry and good luck.
Edit- Congrats on the 31, Decicco!! When do you retake the real thing?
