This is what I tell my colleagues at work: the metrics that are imposed on us are near impossible to fulfill these days in my location, so do your job as best as you can and put customer safety first. Hopefully, everything else works out in the end and everyone keeps their job as long as it's done to the best of his or her professional ability. I have seen a few young pharmacists try to put metrics first over patient care. These are the ones that burnout and leave after 1 year,
What is everyone else's experience like, both in the high 20s-30s and 40s+ age group with regard to perceived age discrimination and impossible metrics? I am actually much older than the 40s, but one of the few to enjoy my job to the fullest which, along with good fortune, puts me in a good position to retire in a few years.
