So just wondering from current Urologists how you like the field, and how the "opportunities" are. How is the job market?

Can you walk into almost any city in the country and get a job? What are the investment opportunities like...were any of you or your friends offered a fair deal on a surgery center buy in or lithrotripsy lab? Are true partnership track jobs available?

I noticed on medscape surveys that Urologists seem to make very good money but are always in the bottom of satisfaction with their salaries, can anyone speak to why this may be?

Opportunities are very good. Yes you can get a job in any city in the country. In the major cities however, it may be harder to get a job doing exactly what you want for the pay you want. Outside of major cities you can write your own ticket. Ancillaries like ESWL or surgery center will depend on state law where you practice and how you are employed. Generally, hospital employed jobs don't allow you to invest in these things. Partnership track is definitely available and should be with minimal buy in.

Even man has a penis, urology will have a job.
