i was all set on going to gtown until i just got off the waitlist at case. gtown's not at all as bad as people on this site make it out to be... yes, the hospital was in bad shape in 2000 but has improved its situation since. there are several other high profile hospitals in financial trouble too--uchicago, upenn, stanford, nyu, etc. bottom line is that it's expensive to run a hospital, regardless of how prestigious the medical school is. sick people need care, and at georgetown the patients get virtually the same treatment as any other teaching hospital, regardless of who's paying for it. so no, there isn't any real trickle-down effect in terms of quality of the clinical experience. i picked case because of the cleveland clinic and some exceptional clinical opportunities, but i really liked georgetown too, and the area's great. current gtown students are definitely the best people to talk too--they seem to like it a lot there.
