How best to stand out as a DO gen surg applicant if aways/auditions get cancelled this year

While it may just be conjecture, there are rumors swirling around that aways may be cancelled for this coming cycle. As someone who is a borderline surgery candidate I was very much counting on auditions for another LOR and to get my foot in the door. Assuming they do get cancelled how can I go about making sure those 5-6 programs I had scheduled an audition rotation with, and am very interested in, keep me on their radar? Additionally, how can I put myself in the best position to match this coming year?

For reference, all of my aways are at community programs and most of them are former AOA surgery residencies. Thank you!
