Hi everyone!

I unfortunately didn't get accepted into dental school this year. My GPA was on the lower end for the first two years of my degree, but it has increased quite a bit since then, and is now fairly good (well above the required GPA for admissions).
I'm wondering if anyone here has any ideas of how to improve in hopes of getting accepted next year?
My current thoughts are continuing my education and retaking the DAT.

I'm a Canadian student living on the east coast. Dalhousie dental school is my first choice, but I will be applying to other schools as well.

Need more details about your app in order to tell you specifics.

Otherwise, there isn't much we can say except:

If your GPA is too low: post bacc, SMP, Masters, etc
If your DAT is too low: study and retake it
If your shadowing hours are too low: shadow more
If your volunteer hours are too low: volunteer more
If you interviewed poorly: practice interviewing
If your PS was weak: rewrite it and have more people look over it
If your LORs were weak: find new writers
Recheck your school list and post it to have others give it another look

I'm assuming your GPA is at least 3.8? There's nothing you should do other than continue your studies (do well), and retaking the DAT if you didn't do well.

keyword: Canada, only your first 2 points apply.

Does anyone know if dental schools prefer a certain kind of education after your B.Sc ( masters vs an extra year of undergrad courses with an honours)?
I'm struggling to figure out what kind of program I should enter next year. I'll have my B.Sc this year, but I don't have an honours so options of masters degrees are limited.

Sadly we only get an ice block to add to our igloo.
