Hey everyone. Just have a quick question. I'm really curious as to which schools give you the best preparation to go out and begin practicing after the 4 years of dental school. I know it really depends on you as a student and what you get out of the program, but I'm sure some schools prepare you enough clinically that you don't need to go out and do a residency and can begin practicing. Does anyone know which ones? Thanks again!

Ex: University of Kentucky had 25 students last year that went straight into private practice. That's a pretty good number.

go on school websites and try to find info about residency placements. or email the admissions people from each school and ask them for the information.

with the schools giving the "best preparation", it depends on a lot of factors, but the ones that come to mind immediately are: the student's ability to acquire the skill set, the location of where the student wants to practice (some states require residencies, some don't), and graduation requirements (different schools have different requirements)
